Our hats, mittens and scarves are 100% wool. Our hats are made from our own yarn, spun here at Thirteen Mile, and made from our organic wool. Inventories are limited; go ahead and place an order and we'll email you back to let you know when we can ship your items.
With our shift to start-to-finish wool processing here in our barn, we are now able to put more energy into providing the raw materials for the fibers arts -- yarns, roving, batts, yarns and needle felting materials.
Sheep producers who are certified as "predator friendly" have made a commitment not to allow any lethal control (shooting, trapping, poisoning) to protect their sheep from native predators.
You can order the sweaters in any of the range of natural colors listed below (and shown in swatches at the bottom of this page). Now that our spinning is up and running in the wool mill, we're selling yarns as fast as we can make them. We cannot hold an inventory of sweater styles and sizes.
The sheepskins are made exclusively from lambs in our flock. After drying the skins here, we ship them to Stern Tanning Company in Wisconsin, where they are transformed into incredibly lustrous, soft sheepskins. The colors include off-white and a rich chocolate brown from the colored sheep.
